We get asked a lot about how to drive more traffic and increase views, so we decided to write a blog about it, aptly named “How to drive more traffic to your YouTube channel”
We mentioned in our video blog ‘How to research keywords for YouTube’ that just 30% of uploaded videos made up 99% of the views on the site.
Having engaging content (see our blog ‘Content is king’) and keywording your videos is a crucial stage in ensuring your brand is seen. However, there are a number of other ways we’ll explore here to help drive traffic to your YouTube channel.
Blog about your video subject using the video within your blog. Go further still and guest blog for others that would find the subject matter interesting. Another technique is to use the video as an additional feature for others to use in their own blogs, driving traffic to your video.
Don’t forget to use all the social networks to post your video.
You never know when a news article or a local or even world event will happen that is relevant to your video. Use a blog and/or change your description, title and tags to your advantage and reflect the event.
Your video will undoubtedly be more relevant at certain times of the year. Are you considering this in your marketing efforts and your keyword research? Can you create additional content on your website/social media sites and point towards your video?
If you have a video that is performing particularly well, are you using annotations to drive traffic to your other videos? It’s easy to do and can be a great way to drive traffic to videos that maybe aren’t being viewed as much.
