Because, who knows where it might lead, and why not? Promoting the good work that’s born and bred in Norwich and within the wider industry is part of who we are. Video production: film and animation are in our blood.
In its eighth year, the festival has become an integral part of the city’s cultural, charitable and creative heritage. It has a first class reputation, attracting guests, patrons, supporters and judges like Hugh Jackman (yes, The Greatest Showman himself), Brian Cox, Olivia Colman, Stephen Fry and Emma Freud. Need we say more?
Well, yes. Just a bit more.
Oscar-winning actress, Vanessa Redgrave will be taking part in a Q&A session after the screening of her directorial debut, Sea Sorrow.
Dr Octopus (from Spider Man 2) – AKA Alfred Molina– will be among the panel of judges, and the Opening Guest will be none other than Lord Norfolk (from Elizabeth) – AKA Christopher Ecclestone.
Because this festival simply would not happen without them. Co-Director Craig Higgins is frankly one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. How on earth he manages to co-direct this event on top of his day job is beyond us, but we are very grateful for his efforts.
All those things together – and the chance to draw attention to new film makers and animators – are the reason we’re supporting this festival. And what better way to do that than by sponsoring the Animated Shorts for Kids?
They explore a wide range of subjects like cuckoos not crowing in hurricane season, dyslexia, aliens, the friendship of cats and how ghosts can teach you not to judge books by their covers.
